What is a Bankruptcy Discharge?

We are no longer offering Bankruptcy services.

The discharge order issued by the court permanently prevents creditors from pursuing collection actions against debts that are discharged.  The discharge order does not prevent secured creditors from seizing collateral if payments are not current or other creditors are pursing property of the estate.

What happens after discharge?

After your discharge order is granted and the case is closed, your bankruptcy will remain on your credit report for 10 years according to the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

If a Chapter 13 bankruptcy is completed successfully the credit bureau will report the information for 7 years rather than the 10 years.
