Mary-Anne MartellMary-Anne E. Martell, Esq.

Seacoast Law founder and senior counsel, Mary-Anne is a native Mainer whose varied life and professional experience brings an unparalleled level of understanding and service to her clients.

During the 1970s, she worked as a welder, building turbine steam nuclear re-heaters for General Electric in South Portland and was very active in the union. Later, she spent eight years at Burnham & Morrill’s—“I put the pork in the cans of beans”—when finding herself the sole provider of three small children pushed her into pursuing her education.

Mary-Anne graduated summa cum laude from the University of Southern Maine with a bachelor’s degree and earned her law degree from the University of Maine School of Law.

While pursing her education, she ran a catering business, worked for Tom Andrews’ congressional office, and was selected as a Maine Policy Scholar under the mentorship of the Honorable Frank M. Coffin of the First Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mary-Anne is admitted to the Maine State Bar, the United States District Court, and the United States Court of Appeals. She is a member of the Maine State Bar Association and the Cumberland County Bar Association. She is a rostered guardian ad litem for the Maine Court System in her advocacy work for the children of Maine. She previously sat on the Family Law Advisory Commission and formerly served as Governor John Baldacci’s appointee to the Maine State Harness Racing Commission.

Robert JacksonAdam J. Bean, Esq.

Adam graduated from Hobart and William Smith College with a bachelor’s degree in English and earned his Juris Doctorate at the University of Maine School of Law. While at law school, Adam interned at the U.S. Attorney’s Office and also practiced as a Student Attorney at the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic. Prior to joining Seacoast Law, Adam worked as a litigation attorney with a concentration in consumer and creditors’ rights actions.

Adam is admitted to the Maine State Bar and to the United States District Court, District of Maine. He is a member of the Maine State Bar Association and the Cumberland County Bar Association. Adam’s practice will include family law, estate planning and bankruptcy.

Prior to pursuing his legal career, Adam worked as a chef in Portland for several years. He takes pride in being a bicycle commuter. He also plays guitar and can be seen performing regularly in the area. He lives in Portland with his wife, who is a school teacher, and his daughter.

Trica SpinneyTrica A. Spinney, Paralegal

In early 2010, Trica joined Seacoast Law as a paralegal and Seacoast Title Company as a real estate closer. With over twenty years experience in the legal field, Trica has spent the last eight years building her own local title company. Known for her attention to detail, Trica has built a reputation for accuracy, respect from her legal peers, and genuine customer service.

In addition to her legal career, Trica is a skilled cake decorator and shares her expertise in that field as an instructor. She also is a therapeutic foster/adoptive parent and CASA guardian ad litem, advocating for the children of Maine. Trica brings much passion and experience to her work.

Trica received her BS in Social Science from the University of Southern Maine in 2002 and her Paralegal Degree from Andover College in 1999. Trica is married, lives in Westbrook with her husband and four children.

Saint Paulie GirlSaint Pauli Girl

Paulie, Mary-Anne’s airedale terrier, joined the Seacoast Law team shortly after her birth on September 5, 2007. Known for her love of visitors, delivery people, snacks, toys, and naps, she greets clients with a smile and a wag of her tail.
